Brad Pitt is creating hot spots all for a good cause. The actor recently announced his newest project for the Lower 9th Ward.
The “Make It Right” project calls for building 150 affordable environmentally sound houses over the next two years. Architects working on the project were each asked to design a 1,200-square-foot house for about $150,000 with Make It Right to help with the financing. The houses had to be built five to eight feet off the ground, with a front porch and three bedrooms as seen in the picture below.
"Make It Right's" mission is built upon catalyzing redevelopment of the Lower Ninth Ward by building a neighborhood of safe and healthy homes that incorporates modern, high-quality design and construction while preserving the spirit of the community's culture.
It’s good to see Brad Pitt working on new roles in order to help the environment. In my opinion, this project should set an example on how houses should be built all across the nation. With global warming, it’s a crucial time for our environment and we all need to take action. To learn more about the project log on to www.globalgreen.org
